How to Lose Weight

I just lost my appetite, after seeing a sea of fats of my tummy’s picture taken by a consultant at J. The disgust was just momentary, as my appetite found me at the end of the day.  A day of battle lost as I found myself gobbling the Chinese mala fish, stir fried beef and cabbage that I bought after my experience at J.

I was amused and curious with the advertisement and promotion of easy slimming without fasting and exercises that I saw on the social media platforms.  So, I signed up with one that was called C, not knowing it was also J.

Checking out the Unconditional Lose Weight Process

I made an appointment through wats aps.  The process was easy and hassle free, though they kind of sent message to confirm that I am going there two days and a day prior to the session.  I can fully understand as they would have an empty appointment session if I chose not to turn up.  They did get my name wrong in one of the messages, addressing me as Jean instead.

On the day of the appointment, I was met with a representative who went through some administrative stuff and got me to sign some forms.  She brought me to a machine that measures my weight, body fat, protein, water and salt made up.  After taking my payment for the trial, she passed me to my consultant, X.

X was nice and friendly but I could tell that she was pretty young and new to this sales game.   She explained the procedures to me prior to the sessions, it was 10 mins of using some cream and a specialized machine to firm and tighten the targeted loose skin and another 10 mins of scraping which they called acoustic treatment where they use a magnetic 4 claws scrape to scrape the targeted area.  These are followed by 30 mins of thermal heat wrap which I found defeat the purpose as it was practically wrapped around you instead of the targeted area, to allow you to sweat out your fats.

Unfortunately, instead of sweating out my fats, I felt uncomfortable and uneasy after the first ten minutes.  I fell asleep for the first ten minutes, as I started to relax after the firming and scraping processes.  I could feel the discomfort when I woke up and asked to be taken out from the thermal wear.

I was then guided to a room where I was allowed to take a good shower.  I went back to the room after the shower.

Sitting in through the sales talk

If you sign up for the pre-trial, be ready to be photographed for the before and after photo.  She was not able to capture a good shot with her camera, so she decided to take the measurements instead.  However, her supervisor must have asked her to take the pics instead.  So, at the end of the session, she had to take the pictures.  She took two photos from different angles and used them for a before and after picture to show me at the sales or closure talk.

At the end of the session, I lost like 0.2 kg, and I guess the measurements did not change much as she did not show them to me and subtly brush it off when I asked for the information.

I told her I was not comfortable with the process, especially the thermal heat wear, yet she continued with her sales talk trying to sell me a 3 sessions package.  She asked if the amount that she mentioned was ok for me.  I politely told her that I will not sign up as I was not comfortable with the process.

Back to Conventional Lose Weight

At the end of the day, it was an interesting 2.5 hours session to address my curiosity and to try to lose weight the non conventional ways.  Looks like exercise or intermittent fasting would help me lose weight more effectively than these short cut methods.

Langkawi Island

Langkawi’s identity is deeply rooted in age-old myths. The most famous is the tale of Mahsuri, a beautiful woman wrongfully accused of adultery, who cursed the island for seven generations. Whether or not you believe the story, her legacy adds an air of mystery to the island’s serene landscapes. Visitors can learn more at Makam Mahsuri (Mahsuri’s Tomb), a cultural and historical site.

Langkawi Masterpiece of Nature

Langkawi is blessed with a stunning variety of natural attractions:

  • Pantai Cenang – The island’s most famous beach, with powdery white sand and a lively strip of cafes, shops, and bars.
  • Langkawi Sky Bridge – A curved suspension bridge offering panoramic views of the rainforest and turquoise waters below.
  • Kilim Geoforest Park – A UNESCO-recognized site where mangroves, limestone cliffs, and wildlife create a unique ecosystem perfect for boat tours.
  • Seven Wells Waterfall (Telaga Tujuh) – A cascading wonder where you can cool off in natural rock pools after a short trek.  But do note you have to walk about 10 mins of steps upward and pay RM10 for tourist and RM5 if you are local to go here.

Adventure Awaits

For thrill-seekers, Langkawi delivers more than just pretty views:

  • Take the Langkawi Cable Car up to Gunung Mat Cincang, one of the island’s highest peaks.
  • Go island-hopping to discover hidden coves and snorkel-friendly waters.
  • Try parasailing, jet-skiing, or even zip-lining for an adrenaline rush with a view.
  • Or a good go-kart ride in the 1.3km track at Morac Adventure Park.

A Taste of Langkawi

The island’s culinary scene is a delicious mix of Malay, Thai, and international influences. Don’t miss:

When to Visit

Langkawi enjoys warm weather year-round, but the dry season from November to April offers the best conditions for beach activities and outdoor exploration.
