These debit cards, Youtrip and Revolut are easy to apply and to use.

The benefit of these cards are its convenience and high acceptance level in todays high card acceptance technology. In addition, the exchange rate is good too and you do not need to carry so much foreign cash overseas.

Applying for Youtrip

Simply need to upload the app on your hp and apply via Singpass or other manual verifications.

You will need to download the Youtrip app on your mobile phone and go through the application process, where a physical Youtrip card will be sent to you after about one week or less.

You can link your bank account or credit card to top up your Youtrip card. Please note that there is a charge for credit card top up. So, do check the rate as they may change for time to time. Credit card top up is waived for the first time charge at the point of this write up.

Once you have money in your Youtrip card, you can exchange to the local rate as at when you need them. The benefit of Youtrip card is the exchange rates are usually very favourable as it is closed to the rate of a good money changer, if not better.

You can change to JPY, SGD, USD, EUR, GPB HKD, AUD, NZD, CHF and SEK immediately on the app and stored in their respective currency wallets.

There are about 150 supported currency rate with wholesale exchange rate at 0% fees. Simply top up your card with SGD and use it to tap payment and it will auto exchange and deduct the amount. Among them are the Malaysian ringgit, Thai Baht, Chinese Yuan, Indonesia Rupiah, Korean Won, Taiwan Dollar, Canadian Dollar, Indian Rupee and many more.

Applying for Revolut

Revolut is also similar to Youtrip. Revolut allow you to withdraw money from international atm with no fee for the first S$350. Revolut also allow you to store your cash, invest in stocks and crypto.

Revolut also allow you to transfer money to your friends. Revolut allows transfer of currencies to JPY, CHF, AED, AUD, BGN, CAD, CLP, COP, CZK, DKK, EGP, EUR, GBP, HKD, HUF,ILS, INR, KRW, KZT, MXN, NOK, NZD, PHP, PLN, QAR, RON, SAR, SEK, THB, TRY, USD and ZAR.
